Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Paulin...

A is a friend that we went to high school with. He got married on Saturday, June 27, 2009 to S Lehman and DH was the Best man! So...we headed to Girard on Friday, June 26, 2009 for rehearsal. We were suppose to leave shortly after lunch, but that turned into 2:30 due to DH and his brother, M trying to plant.

So, we were off and made a hurried trip down! Girard is a small farm town so the closest place that has any hotels is in Pittsburg, which is a college town! We originally were planning on getting there a little early so that we could get checked in, change our clothes and have time for DD to run around for a little bit after riding 3 hours before going to the rehearsal and then rehearsal dinner afterwards. Plans changed seeing how we didn't end up leaving until later and we reached Pittsburg a little after 5:30 and it was about 15 min. or so back to Girard and DD and I still needed to change our clothes and rehearsal started at 6:00. A was still at the hotel with his parents so he waited for DH and DH rode back with him while DD and I got checked in and changed our clothes and then we headed to rehearsal a little bit later.

Rehearsal went good and then we went to dinner at Rockin K which was very good. The place was kinda in the middle of nowhere and it reminded me of a old saloon that you would see on those old country western movies. Very neat, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the rehearsal or dinner. Dinner consisted of BBQ, salad, pickled beets, corn, and HUGE potatoes with the fixins...delicious!

After returning to Pittsburg after the rehearsal DH and I took DD swimming for a little bit. We didn't have much time because under 18 was only allowed in the pool until 10 and it was about 9:30 time we got back to the hotel, but oh well DD still had fun until it was time to get out. Then she pouted some because she didn't understand why she had to get out while other people were still in!!! After swimming we went back up to our room while DH went for a little bit to hang out with another friend from high school that came down for the wedding also and A while I got DD to bed. JR and his family happened to have a room at a Motel across the street from ours.

The next morning we got up and got around and went down to eat breakfast. Shortly after JR took DH back to Girard because he had to be there at 10:30 for pictures and the wedding didn't start until 2:00 and we didn't have to check out until 12:30, so DD and I stayed at the hotel and DD took a nap while I got around. I knew if we went with DH at 10:30 that DD would be done for by the time 2:00 came around...she's two!!! So, dd and I checked out at 12:30 and slowly headed back to Girard for the wedding.

The wedding was very nice!!! DD did ok...she just didn't understand why she couldn't go see Daddy he was after all just standing up front...lol! She kept telling there's Daddy, I go see Daddy and then would try to crawl under the pew to go see him, but we made it threw without any major blow ups!!! The reception followed at a hall just around the corner.

After the reception which ended at 6:00 we headed home! About halfway home we ran into a storm that consisted of heavy rain and wind and some hail. After we drove out of that it was smooth sailing and we made it home around 9:00.

It was a busy but nice couple of days and DD and I spent Sunday recuperating while DH was back at planting again.

Weekend @ Lake

A couple of weekends ago June 5-7 we decided we would go to Cheney Lake. Some friends of ours were going to take their boat out on Saturday any way so we said we could take our camper out and make a weekend of it! It would be close and this would be the only time to go for awhile before harvest.

We arrived at the lake Friday around 5. We wanted to be there earlier that afternoon but things just didn't work out that way! Our friends were already there and had picked out a camp site so we set up and decided to go take the boat out for a little spin around the lake. It was a little windy so the lake was a little choppy, but it was a nice sunset boat ride. It was DD's first time being on a boat and she seemed to enjoy it, but I think she would have liked it a little more if the wind was not blowing and the water was a little smoother!


After returning from the boat ride we came back and grilled some Teriyaki Chicken and ate supper. DD played around the campsite for a little bit and then I went in and put DD to sleep and then the adults sat outside and chatted on into the night.


The next morning when everyone decided to get up...and believe it or not DD was actually the last one to get up ALL weekend...we ate a late breakfast that consisted of Breakfast Burrito that we made and juice. After breakfast we decided to go for a drive to the south side of the lake to see how the water was on that end. We wanted to see if we would be able to launch the boat on that end and it be smoother. But no such luck, it was windier that day and we just didn't want to take a chance on tearing up the boat and didn't really want to pound ourselves to death just to go out on the boat. We decided to drive around the lake a little further to see if we could find the swimming hole that they usually pull into...to see if we could access it from land. This little drive turned into a hour or so drive clear around the lake...oh well, we didn't have anything better to do. That is one nice thing about camping you just go with the flow and you don't really have a schedule to follow!

After we got back to the campsite we decided to go back to one of the swimming holes that we found and go swim. We swam for about two hours or I should say floated and then came back to the camper and grilled hot dogs and then lounged around, played some football with DD, and watched some movies. Later on we grilled some steaks for supper and enjoyed a relaxing evening.


Then Sunday morning we got up ate breakfast and packed stuff up and headed home...Back to reality!!! It was a great weekend spent with good friends and delicious food!!!

Memorial Weekend and Day 2009

I know I am a little late on posting this, but it has been a little hectic lately just trying to get some things done that have been put off for awhile and DD has been fighting allergies...ugh.

Anyways we had a really good weekend busy but good!!!

We started the weekend off Friday night with a BBQ and ridin 4-wheelers at a friends house. She is actually a friend that we went to high school with and her and her husband just put a house in a couple miles from us and they have a spot on the river to ride!!! After riding we came back to there house and roasted marshmallows and made smores...yum!!! It was a late night but fun!


Saturday we worked on some stuff around the house and then Saturday evening we went into another friend from high school's house where they were having a BBQ also. It was a great time chatting with some old friends and eating some yummy food! Another late night but good times!






Sunday we got up and was going to go to church but realized shortly that the air conditioner was not working right...and of course this weekend had been one of the warmer weekends that we have had. So...after some investigating we realized that the air conditioner had froze up and something about some line going into the air conditioner had something wrong...really didn't care what it was just wanted it fixed and fast!
After getting the air conditioner fixed...thanks babe and J...it was to late to go to church and it was time to go meet my mom, sister, and brother for lunch. It was great and spent the rest of the day relaxing and messing around the house!!!!

On Monday we went to the zoo!!! Our zoo has a new tiger exhibit and we were dying to see it and it was warm but not terrible so we packed up and went for about 3 hours!!! That evening my SIL had invited us down to eat supper with them. They had smoked some meat that afternoon and made some other yummy things to go with it!!! We discussed the family garden that we are doing together and shared several laughs!!! The rest of the evening was spent relaxing from the busy but GREAT weekend!!!



Oh and DH informed me that I wasn't going to know what to do come Tuesday when I actually had to cook again, but I am sitting here now and thinking how could we actually eat after all the eating that we did this weekend...we could definitely skip a few meals...lol, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way!!!
